‘Jungle Book’s’ Oscar glory fuels Karnataka’s ambitions of becoming a global animation hub

In a bid to nurture the animation, visual effects, gaming and comics sector in the state that has the potential to seriously disrupt this industry worldwide, the Karnataka government has amended its animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics (AVGC) policy to support the sector with a view to create more jobs.

An amendment to the AVGC 2012 policy underlines the creation of a centre of excellence in animation and a world class digital city. The amendment also emphasises on massive job creation and aims to facilitate skill development through 120 institutes across the state.
